Lynette Romero is a renowned American Emmy award-winning journalist and television personality currently working as an anchor and reporter for the KTLA 5 Morning News. She joined the KTLA team in January 1999 as a general assignment reporter.
During her first year at KTLA 5, she won the prestigious Golden Mike Award from the Radio and Television News Association of Southern California, for reporting and producing the KTLA News series “Public Schools: Working the System.” She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, in journalism and television news.
Romero got a second Golden Mike Award for the best 60-minute evening show along with her new peers during her tenure at KTLA. As well, she is a local recipient of the Emmy Award for reporting the best feature news. While at Denver, Romero’s assignments included the papal visit of 1993, the Waco standoff, and the bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal Building.
