Nick Griffith is a renowned American journalist currently working as the Sports Director and sports anchor for Fox31 News. He joined the station in August 2011 and has been working at the station since then.
Nick grew up in Cincinnati and started attending Reds and Bengals games with his family when he was a child. He was also raised as a passionate Kentucky basketball fan, with his father taking him to games at Rupp Arena on a regular basis.
Nick was a three-sport athlete in high school in his hometown of Madison, Indiana (just outside of Cincinnati). During his senior year, he helped his high school baseball team to a 31-2 record and a state championship. He also played baseball for a short time at Miami University in Ohio. Nick holds degrees in broadcast journalism and political science.
His broadcasting career took off when his baseball career ended. “Once I realized I wouldn’t be able to play sports for a living,” Nick says, “I felt the next best thing would be to talk about sports for a living.”
Nick has more than 15 years of sports broadcasting experience, having covered two Super Bowls, multiple NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Fours, and one National Championship game.
Prior to moving to Denver, Nick was the Lead Sports Anchor at KMBC in Kansas City. Prior to that, he worked as a Sports Director for KTKA in Topeka, Kansas, and KIDK in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
