Ryan Beesley Biography
Ryan Beesley is an American meteorologist who presently works as a weekend morning meteorologist at FOX 5. He joined the FOX 5 Storm Team in March of 2017 and also appears on Good Day Atlanta’s weekend morning shows. During the week, you can catch him on Good Day Atlanta at 10 a.m. and FOX 5 News at Noon.
Beesley is an Atlanta native who attended Roswell High School and graduated in 2008. He went on to the University of South Alabama to study meteorology after graduation. He received the top forecaster award for the class of 2012 during his senior year.
Ryan landed his first on-air job at WLOX in Biloxi, MS, shortly after finishing his degree. While in Biloxi, he covered Hurricane Isaac and the Hattiesburg EF-4 tornado that struck on February 10, 2013. He then accepted a job at WALB in Albany, GA, before moving on to Knoxville, TN, and finally back to Atlanta.
Besides his work as an on-air meteorologist, Beesley has chased over 30 tornadoes, including the tornado outbreak on April 27, 2011.
Ryan visits local schools to teach children about the weather, storm chasing, and what it’s like to work as a broadcast meteorologist. Moreover, Beesley enjoys spending time with his family and anything outdoors while he is not at work. Fishing, golfing, hiking, and grilling are among his favorite pastimes.
