Pete Christy is an American Award-Winning journalist who is currently working as a Sports Anchor, Reporter, and Director for KCBD-TV since September 2004. Prior to joining his current station, he was working as a Sports Producer and Reporter CN8, the Comcast Network.
Following his career, he moved back to Lubbock after spending seven years in Philadelphia. He worked for Comcast Networks in Philadelphia, holding the positions of Sports Reporter and Anchor. While there, he covered the city’s sports teams, Flyers, Eagles, Phillies, and 76ers. However, his passion was anchoring and reporting on his favorite sport, Boxing.
In the Mid-Atlantic Region, his sports challenges known as “I Beat Pete” were immensely popular, as he confronted viewers and celebrities in the game or sport that they play. It is an opportunity to introduce non-traditional sports like Sled Hockey, and many more.
Throughout his career, he has won multiple awards. He is a twice nominee for best Sports Reporter in Mid-Atlantic Emmys and won an Emmy Award for “Best Sports Show” in 2004. In addition, he has received multiple Texas AP Broadcasters Best Sportscast awards.
