Chris Pine is an American actor who is best known for his roles as James T. Kirk in the Star Trek reboot film series (2009–2016), Will Colson in Unstoppable (2010), Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman (2017), and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), among others.
Pine was born in Los Angeles, California. He was no stranger in acting as a child, having a grandmother, Anne Gwynne, who appeared in Ride ‘Em Cowboy (1942) and House of Frankenstein (1944), and a father, Robert Pine, known for playing Sergeant Joseph Getraer on the popular police-drama CHiPs. His mother and sister also enjoyed minor acting careers.
As he grew up, Chris spent time on Hollywood sets, though he was mainly interested in sports throughout his youth. Later on, he decided to follow his family path while attending the University of California, Berkeley. At the University, Pine took acting classes before graduating with a degree in English Literature.
Chris started his acting career on television with appearances on ER, The Guardian, and CSI: Miami.
