Don Dahler Biography
Don Dahler is a renowned American journalist and writer. He is currently a correspondent for CBS News. The star rose to fame as an actor after casting The Dark Power (1985), ABC World News Tonight with David Muir (1953), and 48 Hours (1988). Moreover, he previously worked for WCBS-TV in New York as a reporter and News anchor.
Don joined ABC News in September 1999 as the National Correspondent for Good Morning America. Since his debut in this career, he has filed reports for ABC prime programs including Nightline, Primetime, 20/20 Downtown, World News Tonight, and Good Morning America. He even traveled to Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq for war coverage.
Dahler also covered the Columbine shootings in his native Colorado. On September 11, 2001, he was the first correspondent to cover the scene of the attack on the World Trade Center. His quick response to reporting via telephone from his apartment just blocks away from the scene where the first plane hit the towers. He was reportedly the first one of the South Tower’s collapse a few seconds after its occurrence.

Two weeks later, Don was one of the first American journalists traveling to Afghanistan. This was before the U.S started a bombing campaign against the Taliban. In 2002, he became the first journalist from this country, along with a team from Nightline to successfully cross the Syrian border into northern Iraq preceding the Iraq War.
On September 4, 2007, Don joined CBS2 News as a weekend evening anchor. On May 27, 2008, the Daily News reported that the station had decided to hire Don. He was to fill in as the anchor for the 12 noon and 6.00 PM News. In both shows, he was paired with veteran Dana Tyler.
Recently on September 8, 2011, it was made public that Don would move to weekends, making room for Chris Wragge who is making a return to the local station from a 9-month stint as co-host of CBS’ The Early Show.
