Toni Yates is an American news reporter and anchorwoman who currently serves at Eyewitness News WABC-TV as their New Jersey reporter. She joined WPHL-TV WB17 station, where she had been a news anchor and reporter since 1994.

In December 2005, she left the station. Yates is the New Jersey Reporter of Eyewitness News, usually shown at Noon, 5 PM, or 6 PM. More recently, she revealed that cops and firefighters from Jersey City ended up on the wrong side of the law and the impact it had on the agencies and the confidence of the public.

In Savannah, Georgia, Yates ventured into her career, first as a WTOC columnist, then as a weekend co-anchor with WSAV. She returned to her hometown twice, where she was a columnist for WTLV and a co-anchor for WJXT during a second-weekend columnist stint. In Norfolk, Virginia, she also held dual jobs, delivering morning news while working for the March of Dimes as a second job as Communications Director.

She went up the east coast, landing at WGAL in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for a General Assignment columnist job. After spending several years at WB 17 in Philadelphia, she came to WABC, where she has elevated from weekend anchor-medical columnist to weekday anchor. She has three children: Austyn, Gabriel, and Alexis. She resides in New Jersey and is a member of the Black Journalists’ National Association.

Yates was involved with the Girl Scouts for much of her career. Yates also normally fills in, either for Phil Lipof or Michelle Charlesworth, as a co-anchor for Eyewitness News Saturday and Sunday Mornings. Tropical Storm Beryl was her first assignment on WABC-TV. When she was a WB 17 News Reporter, she hosted the Opening Reception for the 5th Annual of The Philadelphia Black Gay Pride.
