Biography
Adriana Loya is a Mexican-American two-time Emmy-award-winning bilingual reporter and multi-skilled journalist working for 12 News. She reports across all the shows and platforms. Loya joined 12 News in January 2021.
Adriana was born in Mexico and became a U.S. citizen in 2017. Before joining 12 Team, she worked at Boston’s NBC triopoly, reporting for Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra, New England Cable News, and NBC10. Before that, Loya was a multi-media journalist, producer, and anchor for Univision Kansas (KDCU) and KWCH 12 Eyewitness News, based in Wichita, Kansas.
While in Boston, Adriana was the first reporter in the market to bet live on the scene during the Merrimack Valley Gas explosions. As well, she was the only Spanish-speaking reporter to go live during David Ortiz’s arrival at Massachusetts General Hospital, after he was dangerously injured by a gunshot wound in the Dominican Republic.
Moreover, for her education, Adriana joined ASU, where she received her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In addition, Loya is a two-time Emmy Award winner and a member of the National Society of Hispanic Journalists.
During her free time, she enjoys quality time with her family, including her two wiener-basset dogs named Gamez and Heisenberg.
