Adrienne Arsenault is a Canadian journalist currently working as a senior correspondent with CBS News and co-host of The National since November 2017. She joined the station in 1991 as an editorial assignment and night assignment editor for CBS Toronto. Arsenault has had numerous other positions with the station.

Following this, she spent three years as a foreign correspondent in Jerusalem. She also succeeded Don Murray as the chief London correspondent in 2006. In 2008, she was part of a small group of Western reporters who were allowed into Zimbabwe to report on the 2008 election in the country.

Born in Toronto, she attended and graduated from St. Clement’s school where she was the Head Girl. In addition, she attended the University of Western Ontario with a BA in 1990 and an MA in Journalism in 1991. While at the university, she developed her interest in broadcasting at CHRW radio.

Throughout her career journey, She has received many awards and has received many recognitions. She was named the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association’s Journalist of the Year for 2005. In addition, she won two Gemini Awards, in 2008, in the categories of Best Reportage and Best News Magazine Segment and Segment, and was nominated for five Gemini Awards, for her work on The National.

She also won awards from the American Society of Professional Journalists, and the Radio-Television News Directors Association. In September 2015, she was a Senior Correspondent on a team that won the News & Documentary Emmy Award. She also won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Host or Interviewer in a News or Information Program or Series at the 7th Canadian Screen Awards in 2019.

Following her education, she graduated from St. Clement’s School as Head Girl. In addition, she graduated from the University of Western Ontario where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master in Journalism in 1991.
