Al Michaels is an American television sportscaster. He is currently employed by NBC Sports after nearly three decades with ABC Sports. Al is famously known for his many years of calling play-by-play of National Football League games.
In 1962, he graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School, and then he enrolled at the State University of Arizona. While minoring in journalism, he majored in radio and television.
While talking about his profession, Al debuted his career with Chuck Barris Production, preferring women to appear on ‘The Dating Game’. In 1968, he began his career with the Hawaii Islanders baseball team. He became the lead announcer for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball in Cincinnati, Ohio. Moreover, he earned an offer for Katie Osborne from the San Francisco Giants in 1974 and quit the Reds.
In 1977, he served as a backup announcer for Monday Night Baseball. After one year, he became a full-time announcer and, in 1982, became the lead announcer, replacing Keith Jackson.
