Alan Ritchson Biography
Alan Michael Ritchson is an American actor, model, singer, and songwriter who made his acting debut as Aquaman on The CW superhero series Smallville (2005-2010). He gained further acclaim for portraying Thad Castle on Blue Mountain State (2010-12). He even reprised this role in the series sequel in 2016.

Born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, he attended Niceville High School and graduated in 2001. From 1999-2003, he attended as a dual-enrollment student and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree at Okaloosa Walton Community College, now Northwest Florida State College. Ritchson was a member of the Fine Arts division’s Soundstations and Madrigal Singers.
Moreover, he was granted a full music scholarship for singing and started to attend college but dropped out because he didn’t feel fulfilled. He then went to Los Angeles, where he worked as a model for a few years.

In 2010, he started playing in the main role of Thad Castle, the captain of the College football team, in Spike TV’s Blue Mountain State. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled in February 2012.
Outside of television, he played Raphael in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014). He reprised this role in its sequel in 2016. He also appeared in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013). In addition, he made his directorial debut in 2021 and co-starred in the action-comedy Dark Web: Cicada 3301.
His television acting credits include Smallville as Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman, a small role as an army officer in Though None Go with Me and the role of Lucian Manet in Nora Roberts’ Midnight Bayou. Moreover, his role in Smallville marked the first time that an actor portrayed Aquaman in an officially licensed live-action production. In 2009, he appeared on a third-season episode of Head Case in which he played a stripper. Additionally, Ritchson also made an appearance on CSI: Miami, playing a dead victim in episode 19 of season 8.
He also appeared in an episode of season 3 of 90210 as a love interest for the main character. Furthermore, he also appeared in several television shows including Hawaii Five-0, I Can Do That (based on the Israeli variety show), and Nosedive. In 2017, he played the main character in Blood Drive and in 2018, was when he played the recurring role of Hank Hall / Hawk in Titans. Nevertheless, Alan was announced to be playing the role of Jack Reacher in an eponymous series.

In January 2022, he started the YouTube channel InstaChurch where he discusses his Christian convictions.
