Allison Rosati is a well-known American award-winning journalist, currently working at NBC 5 News, WMAQ TV, as an anchor and reporter since August 1990. She serves as the co-anchor of the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts. Before joining NBC 5, Rosati worked as a general assignment reporter at KTTC-TV, Rochester, Minnesota, where she began her career in 1985. Fortunately, for a period of less than a year, she was promoted to producer and co-anchor of the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts.

Rosati left the station and joined WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, New York, where she anchored the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts. Additionally, she served as a general assignment reporter. Moreover, in 1989, she was a local co-host of the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon alongside Barry Lillis. In 1990, Allison joined the WMAQ team as a host of First Thing in the Morning. During her morning possession, she co-hosted Chicago Live with Warner Saunders from 1991 to 1992.

In addition, Allison began anchoring the afternoon news in 1995, and in May 1997, she followed the controversial hiring of Jerry Springer as a commentator and the resignations of Ron Magers and Carol Marin. Furthermore, Rosati was promoted to co-anchor NBC’s 5 newscasts at 10 p.m. This made her the longest-reigning, most-tenured late-evening Chicago news anchor. Moreover, in August 1998, Allison left the afternoon newscast to concentrate on the station’s short-lived daytime program, NBC 5 Chicago Daytime, alongside Nesita Kwan and Byron Miranda. In 2006, she was promoted together with Saunders to anchor the 5 p.m. newscasts, displacing Bob Sirott and Marion Brooks. After Saunder retired in 2009, Rob Stafford was selected as Rosati’s co-anchor for the evening newscast. Moreover, on the occasion of its 30th anniversary year with WMAQ, it was announced that Stefan Holt will be the new co-anchor of Rosati on the 10 p.m. newscasts from October 1, 2020.

Allison was set to have surgery for her wounded limb in September 2020, but owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in Illinois, she has been resting at home due to her age and higher risk of serious sickness.
