Anita Manning is a Scottish antique expert and television personality best known for her appearances as an expert and presenter on the BBC’s Bargain Hunt, Flog It! and the Antiques Road Trip. Reportedly, Anita is the first female auctioneer in Scotland.

In 2016, she broke a previous record for the highest profit made after a single item sale on Antiques Road Trip after selling a bronze Buddha statue priced at £85 which she purchased at £50 and sold at the auction for £3800. As a result, she made a 7500% profit.

Her father used to take her to auctions on Sauchiehall Street, in Glasgow and developed a love for antiques. Anita then had her first antique business in the 1970s after buying a bed from an Irish dealer. After studying physical education and specializing in dance at Aberdeen and Edinburgh, Anita worked as a teacher before she got married.

As a young mother, Anita developed knowledge of antiques by buying furniture from auctions. After visiting Glasgow as a buyer, Manning bought and sold furniture in England and Ireland for about three years, driving all around the country in a truck.

Anita has been running the Glasgow auction house Great Western Auctions since 1989 alongside her daughter Lala. In 2016, she set a new record for the largest profit on a single item on the Antiques Road Trip.
