Belkys Nerey is a Five-time Emmy award-winning journalist currently working as the anchor of 7 NEWS at WSVN 7 in Denver, Colorado. Prior to joining 7 News, Nerey worked as a general assignment reporter at WTNH-8. She is best known as the long-serving newscaster and reporter for 7 NEWS.
Born in Havan and raised in Long Island and Miami, Nerey took every possible lesson from piano to ballet to tap. She then started her television career as a reporter for a South Florida cable station. Belkys worked as a one-man band for more than two years; shooting and editing her own stories before relocating to Connecticut to pursue a job as a general assignment reporter for WTNH-8, the ABC affiliate in New Haven.
Her next step landed her at Miami’s WSVN-7 where she’s been since 1994. During her service at the Miami Fox affiliate, Nerey has covered major news stories and, up until recently, co-anchored the pop-culture-driven Deco Drive. Belkys is currently anchoring the 5,6,10 and 11 pm newscasts, alongside Craig Stevens.
