Brandis Friedman Biography
Brandis Friedman is an American broadcast journalist currently working as a co-anchor and news reporter on WTTW News Chicago PBS since 2012. Prior to her work on WTTW, Brandis spent time working as a news anchor for WBBM News Radio 780 in Chicago Illinois from 2011 to 2013. She even spent eight months working as a writer and producer for Associated Publications. Brandis also worked as a news anchor and correspondent for WJLA ABC 7 News based in Washington DC.
Friedman was born and raised in a suburban neighborhood situated in Vicksburg, Mississippi, USA. She grew up as an intelligent kid who always scored good grades in high school. Brandis graduated from a private high school based in her hometown. She then enrolled at Dillard University and earned her first Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications back in 2000. Brandis then advanced her higher education at Columbia University where she received her Masters’ in journalism and communication in 2001.
Brandis began her career back in 2007 by working as a Deputy Communications Director for the United States House of Committee on Science & Technology. She then joined WJLA News the same year as a fill-in reporter and special project producer. Friedman executed her duties very well and wrote daily reports and indepth swap pieces that earned her more experience as a qualified and trained journalist.
Brandis worked for WJLA as a correspondent for four years and announced her official departure back in 2011. This is the time she got the opportunity to work as a writer for Associated Publications for eight months. In 2011, Brandis joined WBBM News 780 as a news anchor. She spent two years at WBBM writing. voicing and delivering various news reports for the station until 2013. Brandis began her role at WTTW Chicago as a full-time new anchor in 2013.
