Carol Duvall Biography
Carol Duvall is a popular American television show host of the long-running The Carol Duvall Show which started on the HGTV network and was later broadcast on the DIY Network. Duvall started her television career in 1951 on a children’s show in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A local radio station purchased a television station and she and a friend agreed to go and audition. The station liked what it had to offer and Carol got a job.
Duvall was doing 17 live shows a week by the end of the first year. In 1962, the manager of the station headed to WWJ-TV in Detroit and employed Duvall to work there. She worked eighteen years in various positions, ranging from news anchor to co-produce and host of her first craft-oriented show, “Here’s Carol Duvall”.
One day, Duvall got a call from a man she had met when he was still interning in Cleveland. He was starting a new show titled the Home Show and they wanted a craft person. ABC picked up the show which aired for six years.
The show ended in 1994 and the host Robb Weller started a production company with Gary Grossman which invented The Carol Duvall Show. The show aired on HGTV from 1994 to 2005, then on DIY Network from 2005 to the end of 2009.
Regarding her schooling, Duvall graduated from Michigan State University and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
