Cecily Strong Biography
Cecily Legler Strong is an American actress, comedian, producer, author, and singer. Strong is popular for being a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2022. Born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, United States.
Legler attended Oak Park and River Forest High School until when she was expelled for bringing marijuana to school. She then attended a private Catholic school before transferring to Chicago Academy for the Arts, where she graduated in 2002. Thereafter, Cecily studied acting at the California Institute of the Arts. In 2006, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre. Shortly after that, Strong returned to Chicago where she studied at the Second City Conservatory and iO Chicago.
While at school, she performed regularly, and once she was part of a cruise ship with other Second City members for four months.
