Charlie Langton Biography
Charlie Langton is an American television personality and attorney who is currently working as a legal commentator at WJBK Fox 2 News based in Detroit. His passion to pursue journalism was overwhelming. After ten years of practicing law, Charlie joined Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts and graduated as number one in his Specs class.
Charlie’s real job is as an attorney. He has been practicing law for nearly 25 years and owns his own law firm. Langton has handled a lot of car accidents, workers’ compensation cases, slips and falls, and dog bite cases. He also finds criminal cases more interesting than civic cases.
His father was an attorney until his retirement when Charlie was about 15 years old. As a young boy, Langton liked arguing with him about the facts of the case. His arguing skills made him very significant in the Notre Dame High School debate team.
However, he changed his interests in high school where he was a theatre major at Kalamazoo College. Charlie won the Best Supporting Actor Award for his role as the dirty old man in William Ingle’s play, “Picnic.”
After graduating from Detroit College of Law, Langton wanted to combine his legal training with his performing interests. When he was asked to host the Macomb County Bar Association’s cable television program, he took the challenge. Charlie got an opportunity to get one-on-one interviews with people like Rosa Parks, Johnnie Cochran, Charlton Heston, and even Barney the Dinosaur.
After ten years of practicing law, Chalie enrolled at Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts. After graduating number one in his class, Langton landed a job at WYUR-AM 1310 hosting a political-legal talk show from noon to one, Monday through Friday.

Soon after, he moved to WXYT-Am 1270 to host a talk show Monday through Friday from 9 to 11 at night. It was at that time that he was at his peak in his journalism carer. While on the radio, somebody at Fox 2 News heard him and thought he would make a good legal analyst eventually became a regular daily commentator during the Stephen Grant murder case in Macomb County.
During his broadcasting career, Charlie has been honored by the Macomb County Bar Association for outstanding service and has been asked to speak at various legal and charitable events, as well as moderate numerous political debates.
Charlie handles many roles: FOX 2 legal analyst; a reporter; weekend morning anchor and also co-hosts “Let It Rip”, “Let It Rip Weekend” and “Let it Rip On the Road.”
