DeMarco Morgan is a renowned American journalist working as a weekday news anchor for CBS’s West Coast flagship station, KCBS’s CBS2 News This Morning. Before joining the station, Morgan worked at WXIA-TV in Atlanta as a reporter and co-anchor of the station’s 5,6, and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts.
Morgan graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1997, after which he interned at KOTV. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University in Mississippi in 2001 and a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in 2002.

Morgan began his broadcasting career while pursuing his master’s degree at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, covering the September 11th attacks. He also spent two years teaching journalism at Jackson State University and English at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Morgan got his first reporting job after graduation at CBS affiliate WJTV in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2004, he joined ABC affiliate WISN in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he co-anchored for three years with Portia Young. He began working as an anchor and reporter for NBC station WTVJ in Miami in 2007. In December 2008, he joined WNBC, NBC’s flagship station in New York, as a weekend anchor and cut-in anchor for MSNBC.
Morgan began his career at Atlanta’s NBC affiliate, WXIA, in January 2012, where he co-anchored the 6 p.m. newscast with Brenda Wood and reported for the 11 p.m. nightly broadcast. DeMarco also taught journalism classes at Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University while in Atlanta. Morgan left WXIA in October 2015 to become a correspondent for CBS News.
On April 17, 2019, it was announced that Morgan would join CBS station KCBS in Los Angeles as the weekday morning anchor for the 4:30-7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. newscasts beginning May 6, 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he also anchored select newscasts for CBS station WCBS in New York and the CBS Weekend News from Los Angeles, as the CBS Broadcast Center was closed due to infected CBS employees.
