Domo Genesis is an American popular rapper, solo artist, and a member of the hip-hop collective Odd Future. He rose to fame in 2010 after the release of his debut mixtape “Rolling Papers” followed by his album “Genesis”. Moreover, Genesis is well-known for his introspective lyrics, versatile styles, and distinctive voice which make him to continues making waves in the industry. In addition, he was born and brought up in Inglewood, California, United States.
After high school, Domo attended Arizona State University before leaving his studies to focus on a career in rapping. Domo’ become interested in music at a young age through his father’s record collection. Later, he started his professional career as a writer and rapper at the age the 15 years old. Thereafter he worked as a backup singer for different local bands. In 2009, he joined the Odd Future band and started by writing and composing music for the band. Afterward, he released his mixtape, Rolling Papers which become a huge success.
Following that, he went on to release his second mixtape called Under the Influence which was released in September 2011. His second mixtape was well received more than the first mixtape. A few months later, he released a track with his friend Wiz Khalifa, called” Group Up”. Apart from that, he also launched his own strain of medical marijuana named Domo OG. Prior to rapping, Domo also starred in a TV show called Loiter Squad, where he played the role of Young Gunshot. He also collaborated with Alchemist and released a mixtape, No Idol before later releasing his official single, “Elimination Chamber”, which features Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples, and Action Bronson.

In 2013, he and his fellow Odd Future members performed the song “Rusty” from Tyler, The Creator’s second studio album, Wolf, on The Late Show with David Letterman. After that, Genesis went on collaborating with MellowHype and released his second album, MellowHigh, which peaked at No. 89 on the US Billboard 200. Late that year, he announced the release of his second mixtape Under the Influence 2 which was released in November 2014. A year later, Domo released his single called “KWYM” (Keep Working Young Man) on SoundCloud before later releasing another hit album, Genesis which featured Anderson. Paak-assisted lead single, “Dapper”.
Furthermore, he went on the 2016 Chore Tour in support of his album release. After the tour, he appeared on the mixtape Red Corolla, alongside King Chip and Styles P. Additionally, Genisis went on to release his mixtape Aren’t U Glad You’re U? accompanied by a music video for the song “Me vs. Me”. Later in the year, he released the EP Facade Records, which was executive produced by production duo Mike & Keys, with features from Buddy, IDK, and King Chip. As of 2021 and 2022, Domo appeared on Tyler, the Creator’s sixth album Call Me If You Get Lost, on the song “MANIFESTO”. Besides that, he also released another mixtape called Intros, Outros & Interludes which featured guests Navy Blue, Remy Banks, Evidence, and Boldy James.
