Eric Stone is an American meteorologist currently working as a meteorologist at WFLA in Florida, the United States of America. He joins WFLA in October 2021 from FOX 4 in Fort Myers where he worked as a weekend meteorologist. He has also worked at WINK-TV before he got to join FOX 4 News.
Talking about his education, he attended and graduated from Plymouth State University in Plymouth with dual degrees in both meteorology and applied mathematics. Later on, he attended the University of Utah where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Meteorology.
Furthermore, he earned the AMS seal of approval in May of 2009. He also earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society. Stone began his career o television at KSTU FOX 13 in Salt Lake in 2001 as a weather producer and forecaster.
After some months, he was promoted to on-air meteorologist before moving to sunny southwest Florida. While in Southwest Florida he happened to also do weather observation at the Salt Lake City International Airport. When off his duties he loves bowling. He also has a thing for pinball which all started at a local pinball club in Fort Myers called Pinball Asylum.
