Farah Nasser Biography
Farah Nasser is a Canadian journalist who is currently the weekend anchor at Global National since June 2022. Prior to this, she was a co-anchor of Global Toronto’s 5:30 and 6 pm newscasts since May 2015. She is one of Toronto’s most recognized faces in news and is an award-winning journalist.
Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, she was a second-year radio and television student at Ryerson Polytechnic University. She also studied European Media Studies at the University of Westminster in London. At the age of 20, she landed a summer job with CNN in New Delhi, India.
She however began her professional career at Rogers TV before accepting a position with Newstalk 1010 where she worked her way up to reporting role. After landing this first major reporting gig, Nasser went on to hold various roles with Toronto 1, A-Channel News, and many other stations before joining Global News.
When off her duties, Nasser spends her time volunteering in the community. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Journalism Foundation. Furthermore, she serves as a mentor for the Canadian Association of Journalists and for CivicAction. CivicAction is a non-profit firm that brings together senior and emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds.
