Jaime Travers is an Amerian Meteorologist who is currently working as a weather forecaster for FOX 2. She began her career by working at KFVS based in Cape Girardeau, MO. Later on, Jamie moved to tornado alley where she worked at KSN based in Wichita, KS.
Talking about her education, she attended and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. At the institute, she was a student volunteer at the National Weather Service office in Peachtree City, GA.
Later on, she attended Saint Louis University to pursue her Master’s degree in Meteorology. Her thesis examined atmospheric environments similar to the flooding event in May 2010 in Nashville. This search was motivated by the simple fact, that “flooding is the number one cause of weather-related deaths.”
Jamie took part in the development as well as the implementation of a severe weather colloquium. When off her duties, she loves taking walks, doing yoga, or any other outdoor activity.
