…
Dean’s father-in-law and mother-in-law, both residents of a New York assisted living facility or nursing home, died as a result of COVID-19 complications. In the aftermath, she blamed both deaths on a State of New York advisory that required assisted living and nursing home residents to be admitted and readmitted without being tested for viruses, and she became a high-profile critic of New York’s Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo and the lack of media coverage.
Additionally, Janice blasted CNN, Good Morning America, and People Magazine for doing “puff stories” on Cuomo’s epidemic measures that did not address the nursing home issue. She singled out Governor Cuomo and his brother Chris Cuomo (host of CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time, a weekday evening news analysis show) for their behavior during one of the Governor’s appearances on his brother’s show, calling it “an inappropriate, giggling interview.”
