Jeff Cole Biography
Jeff Cole is an American journalist and reporter who is currently working as an investigative reporter for FOX29. He joined FOX29 in March of 2000 and has been working there ever since. Cole holds the Weiss Award for Investigative Reporting, and also a series of Edward R, Murrow Awards, and Associated Press awards.
Following his education, he graduated from the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut with a degree in Journalism and history in 1980. While still an undergraduate, he worked as a production editor for WTNH-TV, the ABC affiliate in New Haven. Moreover, he also acted as an intern on Capitol Hill for a Connecticut congressman.
Before joining FOX29, he worked at a CBS affiliate in Hartford, Connecticut. This was the same point he began his career as a morning news anchor in 1984. After a period of two years of anchoring, he did investigative reporting for more than a decade. In this time, he won four New England Emmy Awards for his investigative reporting. Jeff twice won the prestigious Theodore Driscoll award, named for the Hartford Courant’s long-time investigative reporter.
Jeff is also a two-time winner of the Weiss Award for Investigative Reporting, as well as the recipient of a series of Edward R. Murrow Awards and Associated Press Awards. His reports have led to changes in law, firings, resignations, and arrests. Along with investigative reporting, he is a fill-in anchor and occasionally covers state politics. He was also named one of the region’s most powerful people by Philadelphia Magazine.
