Jennifer Sanders is an Emmy-nominated global journalist, college professor, news anchor, and documentary filmmaker who is passionate about assisting and empowering people through visual storytelling. Sanders currently is an anchor and reporter for KXAN News in Austin, Texas, an NBC affiliate. She joined the station in 2020 after nearly 10 years at Syracuse, New York’s NewsChannel 9 WSYR-TV, an ABC affiliate.

Jennifer started as a weekend reporter in Syracuse and rose through the ranks to become the station’s morning news anchor. Sanders previously worked at KXII-TV in Sherman, Texas, as a multi-media journalist. She was in charge of shooting, writing, and editing news and sports stories at KXII-TV.

Sanders also presented a weekly chat show called “Forum,” in which she covered major problems impacting people in Texas and Oklahoma in depth.

Jennifer earlier worked at KDAF-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth as a writer/web producer. “Hidden History: Syracuse 8,” another breakthrough documentary created by Sanders, was also remarkable. During the late 1960s, a group of African-American football players at Syracuse University staged a boycott that made national headlines in order to protest inequity.
