Jim Furyk (Golfer) is an American professional golfer playing on the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions. Furyk is well known for his unconventional golf swing. He was the PGA Tour Player of the year in 2010 and still the FedEx Cup champion the same year. Nevertheless, he has only won one major championship in the 2003 U.S. Open.
Jim graduated from Manheim Township High School in Lancaster County. In his high school life, he played basketball in addition to being a state golfer champion. His junior golf was at Media Heights Golf Club, South of Lancaster City. Moreover, he attended the University of Arizona, Tuscon where he was an All-American twice leading the Arizona Wildcats to their NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship title in 1992.

As a member of the PGA (1994), he won at least one tournament each year between 1998 and 2003.
Jim’s most well-known victory was on June 15th, 2003 tying the record for the lowest 72-hole score in the U.S. . During the 1990s, he had spent more than 350 weeks in the top ten. In 2004, he only participated in fourteen events due to surgery to repair cartilage damage in his wrist. Missing six cuts and finishing T6, made him drop out of the top 100 on the money list. He reclaimed his top-ten status in 2005.
In addition, Jim also won the Vardon Trophy for the first time in 2006, finishing top ten 13 times, with nine top threes, four second finishes, and two wins. Furyk won the Ally Challenge after his PGA Tour Champions debut on August 2nd, 2020. He also won the PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links. His first senior major competition was the United States Senior Open at Omaha Country Club in July 2021. He won three shots over Mike and Retief.
