Jinjin Biography
Park Jin-woo popularly known by his stage name JinJin, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, model, and actor. He is known as the leader and main rapper of the boy group Astro. He was also a member of the duo JinJin & Rocky. Additionally, Jinjin also worked as a host for the DIVE Studios podcast Unboxing alongside Pentagon’s Kino.
Jinjin attended Hansu Elementary School where he learned his basic education before joining Fantagio as a trainee. After that, he enrolled himself at NY Dance Academy in Ilsan where he took part in various competitions. Later after, he transferred to Hanlim Multi Art High School, where he graduated with a focus on Practical Dance. Soon after finishing his dance practical, Park joined Fantagio as a trainee where he worked for three good years. Aside from that, he has appeared on KBS’s Hallyu Star & Gangnam Style: Trainee Interview with Cha Eunwoo, Moonbin, and Rocky.
In 2016, he left Fantagio and joined ASTRO Group as well as appeared in the web drama To Be Continued alongside his fellow group members. Prior to joining the group, he along with his fellow released their first EP Spring Up followed by five track songs like “Hide & Seek”. That year, Jin-woo also appeared in Eric Nam’s song “Can’t Help Myself” performance stages. Two years later, he was cast in tvN Asia’s “Wok the World” in Hong Kong. In 2019, Jinjin together with his fellow Astro members composed and released their first full album called All Light.

That same year, at their second concert, Park performed his song titled “Mad Max” which he composed. Moreover, he has also appeared in a variety of shows like Go Together, and Travel Alone for Celuv TV. On top of that, he composed one of the side tracks in their seventh EP Gateway, titled “Lights On”. Most recently, Fantagio announced that Jinjin and their bandmate Rocky will form Astro’s second sub-unit called Jinjin & Rocky. They will also release their extended debuted play Restore that same year. Likewise, Park has been credited as a composer, lyricist, and arranger of “Villain” a single from the first mini album of the South Korean boy group TRENDZ.
