Josh Frydman Biography
Josh Frydman is an American journalist currently the co-host of Sports Feed on CLTV and the sports reporter and fill-in anchor on WGN. He joined the station in October 2014 from KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he served as a sports anchor and reporter.
Josh attended Stevenson High School. He then joined the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he pursued broadcast journalism. On-campus, Josh was the sports director of the campus television station MUTV and worked several years at the local NBC affiliate owned by KOMU-TV and operated by the Missouri School of Journalism.
He also spent his summer in Kinston, North Carolina, working as a broadcast and media relations intern for the Cleveland Indians High A affiliate baseball team. Starting in May 2010, Josh started another internship course at ABC7’s sports department in Chicago.
Frydman also worked as a journalism ambassador for the Missouri School of Journalism, where he provided tours to prospective students and families of the journalism facilities, including KOMU-TV. He also helped with various journalism and alumni events, including the Missouri Honors Banquet and a college career fair in St. Louis.

Frydman started his journalism career in August 2011 as a sports reporter and producer for WMC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Memphis. In August 2012, he moved to KFVS-Tv where he worked as a sports anchor and reporter. He anchored and produced the weekend sportscasts and report during the week on sports in southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, and western Kentucky.
Starting in January 2014, Josh hosted “The Saturday Morning Express” on the SEMO ESPN radio network, KGIR 1220 AM and 92.9 FM from 10-11 AM each Saturday. He also filled in as host and producer of “The Sports Huddle” on weekdays from 9-10 AM.
However, in October 2014, he got another job as a sports producer, editing nightly and weekend sportscasts. He also conducted interviews while working with photographers in the field covering all major professional Chicago sports teams, local college, and high school athletics.
In June 2015, Josh joined WGN-TV as a sports anchor and reporter. Along with daily reporting assignments, the enterprise features story ideas on local athletes, coaches, and teams. He also hosts WGN’s 30-minute nightly sports show called GN Sports on Friday nights and serves as a fill-in anchor for the station’s sportscasts during the week and weekends.
