Jude Akuwudike Biography
Jude Akuwudike is a NIgerian-British actor who rose to fame for appearing in Various plays and productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre. He also gained more fame for playing the role of Joshua in Disney’s The Little Mermaid live-action film in 2023. Jude’s other famous roles are in A World Apart (2018), Richard II (1997), Eyimofe (2020) and Bad Girls (2005).
Akuwudike was born and brought up in Nigeria, West Africa. Therefore, Jude finished his early education and studies in Nigeria. He then moved to the United Kingdom to pursue his studies at Wesrtate-on-Sea boarding school back in 1985. Jude eventually joined the Royal Academy of Art where he graduated back in 1987.
Akuwudike made his acting debut by playing Captain Watkin’s role in 1988 in a theatre production called in Our Country’s Good held at the Royal Court Theatre. He then made his film debut in a movie called A World Apart the same year. In 1989, Jude landed his first-ever leading role in a Buth Theater production called The Fatherland by Murray Watts.
He then made his onscreen debut by playing Seargent Gummer in a serial drama called Virtual Murder back in 1991. Jude landed his breakout on0screen role in a 2005 film called A Likeness in Stone. His other significant roles are in TV shows and films like Screenplay (1990), Roger Roger (1996), Heat of the Sun (1998) and Bad Girls (2005).
