Biography
Kandiss Crone is an American journalist who is currently working as a news reporter at CBS2/KCAL9 since joining the station in 2017. She has covered several events including the tragic death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant during her time here. She also covered the second-largest wildfire in California’s history Thomas Fire, and the historic LAUSD teacher strike, among others. Her career in TV news has taken her to places such as Arizona, Mississippi, and Nebraska.
In her free time, she enjoys singing, attending the Faithful Central Bible Church with her family, and hiking trails. She also loves cooking and trying new dishes. As a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Corne has been awarded for her work on issues that affect the black community.
Before joining her current station, she worked as a production assistant at KABC-TV in Los Angeles. An Oxnard native, she graduated from Oxnard High School. Later on, she attended the University of Southern California where she graduated magna cum laude and received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
