Kasie Hunt Biography
Kasie Sue Hunt (born May 24, 1985) is a renowned American political correspondent currently working for CNN political correspondent. She was the Capitol Hill correspondent for NBC News from 2013 to 2021, covering Congress across all NBC News and MSNBC platforms, as well as the host of MSNBC’s Way Too Early with Kasie Hunt and Kasie DC.
CNN Communications announced on Twitter on August 10, 2021, that Hunt will be the network’s first hire of CNN+, the network’s new streaming service. Hunt will be the host of a new show in that capacity. Hunt will also serve as Chief National Affairs Analyst.
Regarding her education, Hunt graduated with a degree in international affairs from George Washington University. Later on, she received her master’s degree in sociology from the University of Cambridge, where she was a St John’s College member.
Hunt began her journalism career as an intern in the political unit of NBC News. She was a health policy reporter for National Journal’s CongressDaily, writing about the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
She wrote for Politico and covered the 2010 midterm elections. Kasie then began working as a national political reporter for the Associated Press in August of 2011 and covered Mitt Romney’s 2012 Presidential campaign.
In January 2013, Kasie joined NBC News as an off-air reporter and producer covering Congress and politics. Moreover, she began appearing frequently on MSNBC as a political reporter. In November of 2014, Hunt became a political correspondent. She used to write for msnbc.com and appeared frequently on MSNBC and Bloomberg shows, including Hardball with Chris Matthews, Morning Joe, and With All Due Respect.
