Her career started in 2006 as a sports reporter for the Network ten News bulletin and Sports Tonight out of Melbourne. In 2009, she replaced Christi Malthouse as a boundary rider. She has worked in regional radio at Murray Bridge, South Australia, and Geelong station K-Rock.
Later, she moved to 3AW as a sports reporter in Melbourne. In both the commentary box and at the ground level, Kelli has commentated for matches for Network Ten. Still, in 2009, she joined Tim Lane in the commentary and became the first woman to call an AFL match on television.
She has won two ASTRA awards for most outstanding new talent and for the most outstanding female presenter. She graduated from Mercedes College.
