Kirbyjon Caldwell Biography
Kirbyjon Caldwell is the former senior pastor of Windsor Village United Methodist Church, a 14,000-member megachurch at Windsor Village in Houston, Texas. Caldwell was a spiritual advisor to Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. On March 17, 2020, Kirbyjon pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud charges in a $3.5 million bond scheme.
Caldwell transformed the Windsor Village United Methodist Church into a community help center. The church was established non-profit organizations including Practice House, a shelter for abused children; a tutoring program for schoolchildren, and a program matching teenagers with mentors.

Caldwell grew up in Houston in a middle-class household in the city’s Kashmere Gardens section. He attended Carleton College where he graduated with a B.A. in Economics in 1975. He then attended the Wharton School of Business, receiving an MBA degree in 1977. Caldwell then briefly worked as an Investment banker at First Boston in New York City before returning to Houston for a job at the bond firm of Hibbard, O’Conner, and Weeks.
Later in 1981, Kirbyjon attended the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and received a Master’s in divinity. While pursuing his degree, Caldwell was appointed associate pastor at St. Mary’s United Methodist Church in Houston.
