She currently works as the morning news anchor and reporter for WCTV News based in Florida. Bennett began her career at the station as an associate producer in 2001 and worked her way up to Producer and then an on-air reporter in 2004. Therefore, she has been working at the station for almost two decades. Bennetts’ sister, K.J Smith is known for her movies and TV Shows like Tyler Perry’s Sistas.
Bennett was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. She grew up as the middle child in a family of three children. Lanetra finished her high school studies at a private school situated in her hometown. She then joined Florida A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication class of 2000.
