Lester Holt is a renowned American journalist and news anchor. Currently, he anchors the weekday edition of NBC Nightly News and Dateline NBC. He is quite known for being the first African_Maerican to solo anchor a weekday network nightly newscast.
In addition, he is also known for moderating the first Presidential debate of 2016. For this task, he was praised by The Washington Post columnist for his role in fact-checking false statements.
On June 18, 2015, he was made the permanent anchor of NBC Nightly News after the demotion of Brian Williams. However, this move saw NBC Nightly News drop its ratings to second place.
