Lucy Verasamy Biography
Lucy Verasamy is a British weather forecaster for ITV Weather, ITV Racing, and ITV’s Good Morning Britain. Verasamy was born and raised in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
She attended Silfield Primary School in Wymondham, and Framlingham College Junior School in Suffolk. After completing the primary level she joined King Edward VII School in King’s Lynn where she studied A-level geography. Lucy then furthered her studies at Brunel University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science honorary degree in Geography.
Soon after graduation from college, Lucy began her career as a forecaster at the Press Association’s Weather Center. While there she worked as an international weather forecast and national writer. She worked for the station for four years before moving to SKY and worked as a weather forecaster on the ‘SKY News breakfast’ show Sunrise. Verasamy was cast in a new website called Climate Clinic where she would answer the questions of viewers in 2007. In addition, She also contributed to Sky News The Weather Girls blog.

Later, Lucy left Sky News and joined the newly launched ITV Breakfast program Daybreak, as a weather forecaster and environment correspondent, alongside Kirsty McCabe. Two years later, her partner left leaving her as the only weather forecaster there. But she did not stay for a while before her too left the program. Even after leaving the program, Verasamy continued to front the national weather forecasts for ITV. In 2017, Verasamy was part of the ITV Racing team as a weather expert while still working for ITV.
Additionally, that same year she began presenting the weather on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. In 2019, Lucy worked the promotion for the M & S Fresh Market. In the following year, she was to co-present a show on ITV called How to Spend It Well on Holiday with Phillip Schofield but due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the show got postponed.
Verasamy together with her fellow colleagues began to present ITV’s Climate Crisis: Our Changing World in 2020. Furthermore, she was also featured in Marks & Spencer’s advertising campaign in 2021, which featured grilled produce from Marks & Spencer’s growers and producers from North Scotland to Jersey.
