Marc Cota-Robles is an American journalist currently working as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for ABC 7 Eyewitness News. He joined the station back in June 2014. A native of Orange County, Marc graduated from Chapman University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast television journalism.
While working at ABC7, Cota-Robles has reported on various breaking stories, including the Las Vegas mass shooting, the mudslide aftermath in Montecito, and the destructive Thomas Fire in Ventura.
Previously, Marc worked almost eight years at KION-TV, the CBS affiliate in Salinas, California. While at KION, he served in various roles, including evening news anchor, beginning in 2010. In addition, the station has won three straight regional Emmy awards in Northern California for best newscast (small market).
Moreover, in 2012, his anchor duties extended to KION’s sister stations, KCOY 12 and KKFX FOX 11, located in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, California. Marc started his career back in 2006 as a morning news anchor at KVII-TV in Amarillo.
Before joining the broadcast news industry, Cota-Robles drove open-wheel race cars, competing in the Pro Mazda National Championship. In addition, he continues to be an avid motorsports fan and has attended the Indianapolis 500 annually since 1993.
