Maria LaRosa is an American meteorologist working for The Weather Channel in Atlanta, Georgia. She works as a substitute weather presenter on NBC’s Today. Maria has worked as a meteorologist on WNBC-TV New York since July 2019.
LaRosa was born in New York state although raised in Ramsey, New Jersey. She attended Penn State University where she graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology. Maria also holds a seal of approval as a certified broadcasting meteorologist. During her time there she worked as an assistant teacher for the University”s introductory meteorology course. In addition, she is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society.
Before Maria was hired by WXIX-television, the FOX station in Cincinnati, Ohio. She worked at KYW-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Afterward, she moved from WXIX-TV to join KYW-TV where LaRosa served as the weekday morning and noon meteorologist for the station. Moreover, she worked as a meteorologist and anchor for WTVM-television, the American Broadcasting Company station in Columbus, Georgia.
Additionally, LaRosa joined The Weather Channel and became an on-camera meteorologist for both Weekend Now and Prime Minister Edition with her co-host Todd Santos in 2010. Two years later, she left to do the 5:30 to 6:00 am. Besides that, Maria also hosted Wake Up With Al from 5:30 to 7 am alongside Stephanie Abrams, Al Roker, and Mike Bette, Morning Rush from 7 to 10 am with Abrams and Bettes (2010–2014), and America’s Morning Headquarters However, she left the Weather Channel on September 2018.
