Mark Dixon Biography
Mark Dixon is an American journalist, meteorologist, and reporter currently working for Channel 3 Eyewitness News at Noon and 5.30 p.m. on weekdays. Additionally, Mark has been part of the Channel 3 Early Warning Forecast Team since July 2003. Dixon also hosts “Science Sunday,” a segment partnered with the Connecticut Science Center that airs every weekend.
Dixon attended the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
At Dixon’s young age, he developed an interest in the weather. In Tulsa, he started his career, where he toured and interned. After his graduation, he went to Little Rock, Arkansas, for his first full-time job. Fortunately, he received an Associated Press award for a summer heat demonstration: Best Weather Section. Mark was highly active in implementing and improving the local weather net of his station.
As Mark grew up, his obsession with the weather persisted. He interned at KJRH-TV when he was a high school junior. Luckily, Dixon has been nominated for several prestigious Emmy Awards. He has also received the Connecticut Associated Press Broadcasters’ Best Weathercast award.
Additionally, Dixon has been an anchor and reporter for Channel 3 Eyewitness News at Noon and 5.30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. He has been part of the Channel 3 Early Warning Forecast Team since 2003. He served on WFSB’s “Cool Schools” as a host.
When Mark is not working, he likes to spend much of his time at the gym, running, and occasionally swinging his golf clubs. In addition, he has completed eight marathons, which are: in Oklahoma City, Dallas White Rock, Chicago, Austin, St. Louis, Little Rock, Greater Hartford, and New York City. He is now concentrating on the 5k, 10k, and half-marathon distances. He’s even dabbled in the world of triathlon.
