Matt Teale Biography
Matt Teale is an English broadcast journalist with ITV, Forces TV, and Sky News. Teale rejoined ITV news Central in February 2, 2012. Similarly, Matt appears on the British Forces Broadcasting Service and is one of the main anchors of the new service, Forces TV, which started broadcasting in June 2014.
In 2007, Teale was received the prestigious Royal Television Society Award (Nations and Regions) “Sports Presenter of the Year”.
Teale has been with ITV in the Midlands since 1997. Currently, he is the Main Presenter of the evening news programme in the East and West Midlands on Thursdays and Fridays. In addition, Matt as well works as a freelancer for the British Forces Broadcasting Service and Sky News.
Teale graduated from the University of Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. After a short while he started his career at ITV’s East Midlands news service prior to working for their Regional Programmes Department as a researcher, director, producer, and a series producer on multiple regional and network programmes.
Moreover, in 2005, Matt joined Central Independent Television’s sports team as a reporter located in Birmingham where he covered the sports news for Central Tonight alongside Sarah Jane Mee. In 2007, Teale covered his last sports report for Central Tonight. He then moved to work as a presenter on Setanta Sports News which was formed y ITN. He worked there until the channel stopped broadcasting in June of 2009.
Besides, Matt covered the first season of the Indian Premier League cricket for Setanta Sports, and also the specialist programmes on Boxing, Cricket and Mixed Martial Arts.

Furthermore, in August of 2009, it was reported that Matt would take over from veteran newscaster Alastair Stewart as a co-presenter of London Tonight along with Nina Hossain and Katie Derham. Teale made a debut as a relief presenter on 25 August 2009 and as a main co-presenter on September 7, 2009. Since then, Matt has from time to time presented early morning and lunchtime bulletins of the ITV News and also the weekend editions of ITV News London. In addition, he has presented on sports news on Sky News since June 2010.
