Monica Alba Biography
Monica Alba is a political reporter for NBC News in Washington D.C., covering President Trump and the 2020 Campaign. For the first two years of the Trump administration, Monica worked as a White House producer, traveling extensively with the president domestically and overseas.
Alba attended the University of Southern California where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism; International Relations, Cinematic Arts, and Journalism between 2005 and 2009. In 2011, Monica joined Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism to take an MS. in Documentary Filmmaking.
Monica worked at Anneberg T.V. News as a producer, anchor, and reporter, and also as an intern at Telemundo Media, a division of NBC Universal in 2006. Between 2007 and 2009, Alba served as an intern at City Projects where she worked with Philip Rodriquez a documentary producer on the documentary Brown is the New Green: George Lopez and the American Dream.
Earlier on, Monica interned at Telemundo Media, a division of NBCUniversal and City Projects. In February 2012, she also interned at NBC News in the Greater New York Area. In June 2007, Alba co-founded do good docs Corporation.

Alba also co-founded the Social Issues Documentary Film Contest, a film festival that requires high school students to produce short documentaries on social issues in the San Francisco Bay Area.
