Patrick Elwood is an American journalist currently working as a general assignment reporter for WGN News. Elwood joined the WGN-Tv News team in 2013 and has since been part of the station’s success.
Before joining WGN-TV, Patrick worked for major television and radio stations in Houston, Corpus Christi, Oklahoma City, and Milwaukee before returning back to his hometown of Chicago.
Patrick is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Some of his notable career highlights include coverage of the White Sox World Series, two Blackhawks championships, the Bears Super Bowl, and the Oklahoma City Bombing, for which he earned a Peabody Award.
He credits his biggest career accomplishment as the work he’s done with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, in which he, along with thousands of Chicago school kids, has raised over $12 million for pediatric cancer research.
