Payton Malone Biography
Payton Malone is an American meteorologist who is currently working as a Morning Meteorologist at WWL-TV (CBS affiliate) in New Orleans, Lousiana, the United States of America. Moreover, Malone is currently also an On-Air Meteorologist, Digital Producer, and Multimedia Journalist at WXXV-TV in Gulfport since May 2017.

Payton has always been a focused child and he knew that he wanted to be a meteorologist when he was 6 years old. He remembers growing up and always glued to the TV and used to wonder what the weather was going to do. Before he even knew it, the weather had already turned into an obsession and he later pursued a career in meteorology. As a highly educated individual, Malone attended and graduated from Vernon College in 2012 having joined the college in 2010. After graduating from Vernon College, he enrolled for a degree at the University of Oklahoma. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geography and a minor in Meteorology.

Malone began his broadcasting career as an intern weather anchor at KOCO TV in Oklahoma City for 5 months since January 2016. He later went to Norman, Oklahoma in October 2013 where he served as a lead teller at the Republic Bank and Trust for 3 years and 8 months. Moreover, Payton was a student assistant at the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences from September 2015 to May 2015.
Currently working as a Morning Meteorologist at WWL-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana, Payton considers this a dream come true for him. He is not a stranger to Southeast Louisiana’s wild weather. Payton’s first hurricane was Nate and he realized after living on the Gulf Coast for a few years that tropical forecasting is where his passion is right now. Additionally, Malone spends a lot of time in the kitchen baking at his leisure time. He is also a huge coffee fan and is always on the search for the best coffee in New Orleans.
