Raj Mathai is an American-Indian 12th-time Emmy Award-winning TV journalist currently working as a news anchor at NBC-owned KNTV, San Francisco, California (1998). He joined as the station’s sports director and eventually progressed to the primary news anchor of the station in 2011.
Raj is a 3-time Olympic Torch Bearer (1996, 2002, 2008). He has covered big events like the 2020 Super Bowl in Miami, the 2019 Gilroy mass shooting, and the 2017 Inauguration of President Donald Trump. In 1995, Raj Mathai was the first American- Indian sportscaster. Previously he worked as a public relations assistant for the San Diego Chargers for five seasons.
