Randy Owen is a country music singer, songwriter, composer, and guitarist from the United States. He is most recognized for being the lead singer of the Alabama country-rock band. In the 1980s and 1990s, the band was immensely successful and popular in country music. He is also a solo musician, having published his first album, “One on One,” in 2008 and his second, “Friends,” in 2011.

Owen was a ninth-grader when he dropped out of high school. He returned to school, though, and graduated from Fort Payne High School in 1969. He started playing music with his cousins Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook in a band called Wildcountry when he was in high school. They won their first talent show when they performed at a high school.

The group become professional musicians in 1973 and started performing at bars throughout the south. He has also hosted Country Gold which is a Saturday night request program. Additionally, Randy has also been very active in charity work and helping disadvantaged children. In addition, he has donated a lot of money to various charities and humanitarian acts.
