Samantha Manning is an American journalist who is currently working at Cox Media Group’s Washington, D.C. bureau where she provides coverage of Capitol Hill and the White House for Cox Television. In addition, she is responsible for covering important developments from Capitol Hill, federal agencies, and the White House.
Manning previously worked as an investigative reporter at WJAX-TV/WFOX-TV Action News Jax in the Jacksonville, Florida area. While there, she investigated the sinking of the cargo ship El Faro, which led to the deaths of 33 people.
After graduating from Hofstra University with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, she started her career as an Intern at forextv.com at a TV Media in New York. Her work there was to research, write and anchor the business reports on camera for the web streams.
In addition, she served as an intern at 7 On Your Side at WABC-TV in New York from August 2008 to December 2008. She also served as the producer of the consumer news segment of WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News program. While here, she conducted pre-interviews with sources and pitched stories to the producer.
Later on, in September 2016, she worked as a reporter at WFTV in Orlando, Florida Area. Here she did the impact of Hurricane Matthew and Hurricane Irma on Volusia County. She also investigated the homicide of a Winter Park teenager that led to the arrest of three local teens. Samantha left the station in September of 2019.
As of now, she serves as Washington Correspondent at Cox Media Group in Washington since October 2019. She provides political coverage of Capitol Hill and the White House. More often, Samantha is responsible for doing significant developments from Capitol Hill, federal agencies, and the White House.
