Shannon Pettypiece is an American print and broadcast journalist currently working as a White House correspondent for NBC News Digital. She joined the NBC News team in July 2019. Previously, she served as a print and on air-reporter at Bloomberg, LP from January 2006 to June 2016.
Pettypiece was born and raised in Lake Orion, Michigan, where she attended and graduated from Lake Orion High School. At the age of five, she began showing horses competitively, and she was involved in 4-H and her high school and college equestrian teams. Later on, she attended the University of Michigan, where she was a reporter and editor for The Michigan Daily, the university’s student-run newspaper. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in political science with a focus on Russia and the former Soviet Union.
