Si Robertson Biography
Si Robertson, commonly known as “Uncle Si”, is a reality television personality, hunter, evangelist, outdoorsman, and retired US Army soldier from the United States. He is most recognized for his part in A & E’s Duck Dynasty, where he has risen to the top of the group.
Robertson also hosted the Duck Dynasty spin-off Going Si-Ral and participated in other shows like the Outdoor Channel’s Buck Commander and The Duckmen of Louisiana. Si has also appeared as Silas the Narrator in the Veggie Tales episode Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas, produced by Big Idea Entertainment.
Si grew up in Vivian, Louisiana, where he attended North Caddo High School. He was a member of the football squad at school, following in the footsteps of his brother Phil, and even wore the same # 10 shirt.
He joined the United States Army during the Vietnam War after dropping out of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana after three quarters. His mother sent him Tupperware cups, beans and rice, two boots, and two jars of jalapeno peppers in each boot throughout the conflict. Si is rarely seen without one of his plastic cups, which he uses to drink iced tea, which he values equally.
Si was a Sergeant First Class in the Army (E-7) until he resigned in 1993. The Chennault Aviation and Wartime Museum in Monroe, Louisiana, has an exhibit honoring Robertson’s military service.
