Steve Kornacki is a renowned American political journalist, writer, and television host currently working for NBC News as a national political correspondent. Kornacki attended Groton-Dunstable Regional High School. He later joined Boston University where he graduated with a degree in film and television. Previously, Kornacki was the multimedia anchor and data analyst for much of MSNBC’s The Place for Politics campaign coverage, airing throughout 2016.

Kornacki started his journalism career as a reporter for PoliticsNJ.com, a New Jersey political news site owned by David Wildstein. After working from 2002 to 2006, he co-hosted a political news series on News 12 New Jersey and reported on the United States Congress for Roll Call.

Since 2014, Kornacki has been MSNBC’s election coverage map correspondent. Furthermore, beginning in 2016, he hosted a daily program from 4 p.m to 5 p.m. He frequently guests hosts Hardball with Chris Matthews, The Rachel Maddow Show, and All In with Chris Hayes.

On May 8, 2017, Steve was named National Political Correspondent for NBC News Group and continued co-hosting the 4 p.m. edition of MSNBC Live alongside Nicolle Wallace. In 2018, he published a book titled The Red and the Blue, a book that chronicles the polarization of politics.

Starting in October 2019, Kornacki started hosting a podcast for NBC News covering the inquiry and first impeachment of President Donald Trump.

On December 6, 2020, Steve guest appeared on NBC’s Sunday Night Football pre-game show, Football Night in America. In the show, he analyzed playoff scenarios for the 2020 NFL season using a similar approach. He is further scheduled to make recurring appearances in the show.
